Study shows association of atrial fibrillation with high free thyroxine levels

Higher levels of free thyroxine FT4 at baseline but within the normal range significantly increase the risk of new onset atrial fibrillation says a study reported online October 23 2017 in Circulation. TSH at baseline was not significantly associated with incident AF in euthyroid participants or those with subclinical hypothyroidism.
